Vegas Market Sees Higher Demand

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 8/4/2007

Las Vegas — When building C opens next July, the 2.1 million square-foot structure will be the largest building to date on the World Market Center campus. But it won't hold that title for long.

The fourth WMC unit, Building D, originally slated to have about 1.5 million square feet of space, will instead be larger than the third, said Shawn Samson, co-managing partner of the WMC.Samson said demand for space for furniture, decorative accessories, gifts and a variety of related categories is still growing. He said ground will be broken late this year; the fourth building is scheduled for completion in 2010.

He also said that even though the first two floors of Building D will be set aside for temporary exhibit space, the tent-like Pavilions that currently house temp exhibits probably won't disappear until the fifth WMC building is completed in 2011 or 2012.
