Revman to Debut Tommy Bahama Lines

By Jennifer Marks -- Home Textiles Today, 7/30/2007

New York — Next week, Revman will officially take the wraps off its new Tommy Bahama line, a full presentation of bedding and bath products.

"It's a real lifestyle brand," said Rich Roman, president and ceo, Revman International. "Of all the brands, lifestyle brands have historically done very well for us."

Tommy Bahama is being presented at two levels. The Relax collection is more casual, with 300-count all-cotton sheeting and a $299 retail on queen comforter sets. The Tommy Bahama Collection is inspired by luxury resort hotels, with 400-count pima or Egyptian sheeting and a $392 retail for a queen comforter set.

Relax consists of two top-of-bed patterns — a textural print strip and a textural print batik — both offered in multiple colorways. In addition, the line includes a novelty print sheet featuring a nautical map motif.

The Tommy Bahama resort-inspired Collection ranges across six beds. "There are a lot of yarn dyes, a lot of different looks and substrates," said Diane Piemonte, vp, creative services.

The Collection includes a signature line of highly textured, quilted coverlets. "We're expanding coverlets. We've been seeing a lot of interest in alternative, lightweight top-of-bed," said Piemonte.

In addition, the Tommy Bahama Collection will include stand-alone sheet sets that can layer back in to any of the Collection beds. The heathered-look solid sheets are available sea glass, spice berry and straw.

In bath, Revman is giving Tommy Bahama a big rollout, devoting an entire room to various towel constructions, shower curtains and bath accessories.

"We put a very concentrated effort here to make a broad statement about the brand in bath," said Piemonte.

Revman has created bath coordinates for the bedding as well as stand-alone. In classification, Tommy Bahama's core towel is a reversible in six colors at $24.99 retail.

Towel offerings include a solid bamboo/cotton with a drier-than-usual hand for bamboo as well as a batik look, herringbone and stripe dobby border. King among several beach towel offerings is a 60-inch-by-60-inch printed beach blanket with embroidered Tommy Bahama logo.
