Frette to launch Helena as limited edition

New York – This fall, Italian linen house Frette will launch its third limited edition collection – Helena, inspired by Helen of Troy – which will be available in just 99 numbered sets priced at $6,000 each.
Consisting of a duvet set – with a cover, two square shams, and two boudoirs – each set is a modern interpretation of a 17th century antique silk damask with gold brocade.
To create the pieces, Frette used three-meter looms to interweave shantung silk threads with smoother silk yarns to render a complex, hand-embroidered look. Decoupé golden lame threads embellish the silk fabric. Duvet cover linings are woven in top-quality Egyptian cotton sateen.
The set is to arrive in a specially-designed box in dark metallic brown, and includes a booklet explaining the features of the pieces.
To complement the Helena set, Frette has created Divine throws and cushions in natural brown Barguzinski Silvery Sable, backed in burnished gold shantung silk. The throw is also Frette’s most expensive offering, with an $85,000 retail.
Other optional coordinates include matching Egyptian bed sets, monogrammed towels, nightdresses and pajamas. The collection will go on display in Frette windows worldwide in November.
