Hudson Debuts Down Overlays

Richmond, Va. — Diversified sleep products manufacturer Hudson Industries has announced its first entry into the down overlay category, to complement the rest of its top-of-the-bed product classification in memory foam and other hybrid blends.
The Comfort Cloud down-filled pillow-top mattress overlay will begin shipping to retail by Aug. 1, the company said.
As the category has evolved and memory foam has now been entrenched as a standard in-line sku for many retailers and catalogs, said Hudson vp Lonnie Scheps, "the return to an all-down mattress topper is a natural, cyclical next step."
Scheps added, "Customers continue to demand higher-end mattress overlays and more comfort." The all-natural down overlay by Hudson is designed to provide luxury with an all-down layer for featherless comfort.
"This is definitely a major level above the traditional feather-bed," Scheps noted, "and Hudson intends to merchandise it and target it as such."
The cover is 400 thread count, and the quilted pillow-top overlay displays a 550 fill power. The skirt will accommodate super high-profile mattresses, the company said.
