Dalton, Ga. — Balta U.S. has assembled a collection of rugs that are intended to make viewers smile. Reminiscent of simpler times, the Curio Collection rugs are inspired by vintage kitchen motifs but are interpreted for today's dining rooms and kitchens.

"Balta's intentions were to create a broad but cohesive collection that would in essence be timeless," said Balta vp of sales and marketing Dimitri Verhoye.

"Balta studied vintage hand towels, tablecloths, dresses, wallpaper, nostalgic icons for the home, and even cross stitch patterns," added Mark Ford, director of product development.

Made of 100% polypropylene, these rugs are tightly woven for under-table use, and can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

Because of the weave structure of the rugs; detailing can be achieved in hundreds of textures and dozens of shades derived from two primary colors.

The 15 rugs in the collection are being offered in five sizes, from 21-inch-by-34-inch to 8-foot-by-11-foot.

Curio will be shown at the Atlanta Int'l Rug Market in the Balta showroom 3-D7.
