Bruce Pachter has resigned from Chris Stone, Inc. where he most recently served as vice president, sales.

Pachter, who had been with the company for almost a decade, resigned for personal reasons, according to Mark Aizawa, president. The company has begun a search for a replacement.

Stein Mart recently promoted Dan Angle to divisional merchandise manager, linens. He replaces Libby Newland, who left the retailer in late fall to return to the East Coast to be closer to her family.

Angle was previously Stein Mart's fashion bedding buyer. Filling that post is Alana Fetto, formerly the fashion bedding buyer for St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Home Shopping Network.

Angle reports to Kassie Jones, vp, gmm; and Fetto reports to Angle.

Wal-Mart Stores has promoted senior vp, finance Charles Holley to executive vp, finance and treasurer.

Holley, who reports to evp and cfo Tom Schoewe, will continue to oversee finance, tax and investor relations and will take on additional responsibility for treasury. Jay Fitzsimmons, currently svp, treasurer, will retire on Jan. 31.

Steve Whaley has been promoted from vp, controller to svp, controller, and will serve as principal accounting officer, reporting to Schoewe.

Holley joined Wal-Mart from the Tandy Corporation in 1994 and served as svp and cfo of Wal-Mart's International Division. He was promoted to svp, controller of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. in 2003, and was named svp, finance in December 2005.
