IFDA/NY Announces Board

New York — Susan Hirsh, senior merchandising manager for Benjamin Moore, Montvale, N.J., will serve a second term as president of the New York Chapter of the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA) for 2007.
"Our goal for 2007 is to expand our program of seminars and special events designed to enhance our members' professional development," she said. "Our regular market reviews by industry leaders and major magazine editors will continue to provide insights into the trends and significant shifts in our fast-paced industry."Hirsh will preside over a board that includes:
- President-elect Maureen Klein, a freelance writer-designer in the do-it-yourself home furnishings market;
- Secretary Rue Richey, an account manager with Architectural Digest magazine;
- Treasurer Agnes Freas, a New York-based marketing representative for Zeftron Nylon.
Returning to the board as co-chairs of special events are Rosemarie Hittmeyer, a freelance home furnishings designer, and Cathy Guterman, an independent public relations consultant.
Newly elected directors at large are:
- Linda Kulla, FIFDA, vp, Lenox Bath Division, Bardwil Industries (financial);
- Claire Coleman, FIFDA, president, Coleman Communications and an IFDA founder (events);
- Hermine Mariaux, president and ceo of Hermine Mariaux, Inc., an international licensing and concept marketing firm (future directions).
- Christine Ness, who heads her eponymous licensing and interior design firm (chapter liaison to IFDA Educational Foundation).
