Manchester, Ct. – Regional powerhouse Bob's Discount Furniture has recruited former TJX president and ceo Ted English as its own ceo.
At Bob's, English will take the place of Stan Adelstein, recently named chairman, while former chairman Gene Rosenberg has been named chairman emeritus.
Bob's president Bob Kaufman noted the timeliness of the hire, pointing out that recent first-in-state new store openings in New York and Rhode Island bring the expanding store count to 25 and are "the tip of the iceberg."
During his time as president and ceo of off-price leader TJX, English led the parent company of TJ Maxx and Marshalls through a 900-store expansion, taking revenues up to $15 billion.
