Textiles Show, Gift Fair to Provide Extra Programs

White Plains, N.Y. —George Little Management will offer a variety of programs during the upcoming New York Home Textiles Show (held at the Metropolitan Pavilion, Aug. 13 – 16), addressing design, consumer trends and product innovation. The programs will be presented in collaboration with the New York International Gift Fair and EX•TRACTS, which will take place at the Javits Center and the Piers.

Among the events:

• Attendees at the “On the Town” event at Chelsea Market, 6:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 13, will be able to partake in a behind-the-scenes look at Chelsea Market Baskets while enjoying specialty foods from around the world. The Chelsea Market (75 Ninth Ave. at West 15th Street) is a short walk from the Metropolitan Pavilion — a perfect place to indulge after a day at the Show. Cost: $20 per person.
• Complimentary 15-minute sessions about 2007 Trends — on design, color and product —will be held at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 14 in the Accent on Design Lounge, upper level at the Javits. Participants can view trend boards by The MIX magazine, with seasonal imagery and color directions. All attendees will receive a voucher for a complimentary copy of The MIX to be picked up at the Metropolitan Pavilion.
• Designer Jonathan Adler will be interviewed live in the South Concourse of the Javits Center by journalist Stephen Treffinger, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 14. Adler is expanding his creations in a range of home furnishings categories. He'll share his experiences, inspirations and ideas from his new book during this morning program. Cost: $35 per person in advance/ $40 on-site.
