By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 6/5/2006

Park Ridge, N.J. —Industry veteran Stan Goldman passed away recently following a battle with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. He was 74.

Goldman was national sales manager for Hedaya Home Fashions for approximately 20 years. He retired in 1999.

Said Nathan Hedaya: “Stan was a kind man, with a great sense of humor. His love for people was evident in the number of friends he made over his 45 years in the industry. Stan had an unforgettable smile and a laugh that brought a smile to everyone's face. He will be missed by all who knew him.”

Goldman was born in Brooklyn and served in the Korean War. He is survived by wife Ruth Goldman, daughters Carlyn Knatz of Bronxville, N.Y., and Meg McComb of Woodland Hills, Calif., and sons-in-law Michael Knatz and Greg McCombs.

The family has requested that any remembrances to him be made as a donation to support research of ALS. Checks should be made payable to “Columbia University ALS Gift Fund,” and mailed to: Columbia University Medical Center, Development Office, 100 Haven Avenue, Suite 29D, New York, NY 10032. Further information is available by calling the Columbia University Medical Center's Development Office at (212) 304-7200.
