Surtex Hits Big Apple

White Plains, N.Y. — The Surtex show running May 21 to 23 at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center will also include nine educational sessions grouped into three tracks: licensing, business, and trends — as well as “A Conversation with Mary Engelbreit” breakfast and a sunset cruise.

Emmanuelle Linard, director of Edelkoort, Inc., and manager of operations for Trend Union and View magazines, will explore fabric trends through eight varied themes — examining the impact science, museums, technology and nature will have on inspirational new home textiles and fashion fabrics. Lifestyle Trends for 2007

May 22, 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.

Britt Bivens, director, Promostyl — the global trend company based in Paris — will examine the colors, textures, fabrics and looks for spring/summer 2007. Admission: $50 in advance/$60 onsite.

20th Anniversary Party: “Cruise & Connect”

May 21, 6:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

The show will celebrate its 20th anniversary aboard the Princess with hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, a buffet dinner and dessert, plus music and views of the New York City skyline. A free shuttle also will be provided to and from the party. Admission: $65.
