Pembroke Pines, FL — Bath and beach towel manufacturer and supplier Hilasal said it has found the perfect recipe for hitting an aggressive price point for a luxury towel.
The new Hilasal-branded Soft-Spun Classics collection is a two-ply, 65% Egyptian cotton and 35% bamboo fiber blended bath ensemble group that is set to retail for $9.99 for department store retail customers, said Larry Price, director of U.S. sales.
“We have been trying to come up with a towel we felt was different from what is out there,” he said. “We don't see an Egyptian-bamboo blend in the marketplace at this price point. So we are trying to hit a price point with this blend that works for our customers and fills a need for them.”
The products are made in Mexico by Hilasal at the company's Guadalajara facilities.
The towels are highly absorbent, environmentally friendly, anti-bacterial, durable and breathable, according to the hangtags.
The palette includes 17 solid colors that come in groups of light, mid-tone and deep hues.
The specs are: bath, 30-inch-by-56-inch and 18 pounds per dozen; hand, 16-inch-by30-inch, 5.5 pounds per dozen; and wash, 13-inch-by-13-inch and 1.9 pounds per dozen.
The towels also feature a dobby border. “We literally looked at about 40 dobbies until we chose this one,” Price said. ”
The company will offer bath sheets and tub mats as coordinates, but will consult its retail customers on sizes and weights.
