Hellenic Rug Imports To Debut Candice Olson Rugs

Brooklyn, NY— Star decorator Candice Olson of HGTV’s “Divine Design” show fame recently partnered with Hellenic Rug Imports to create a new line of area rugs. The launch is set for April during the High Point International Home Furnishings Market.
The line includes hand-knotted hard-twist rugs in traditional looks and a broad assortment of wool and wool-and-silk blended tufted rugs, available in transitional, damask-inspired and geometric designs. All are made in India.
“It’s a very different, very muted, very toned-down collection,” explained Steve Mazarakis, president, Hellenic. “It was something we were missing.”
Hellenic creates rug programs for several other designers, including Cristina Ferrare, Bob Mackie, Phillip Jaeger and Dick Idol.
For the new collection, Hellenic is working closely with Olson’s other licensees — Norwalk Furniture, Kravet Fabrics and AF Lighting — to create some coordination, Mazarakis said. “But our rugs came out so beautifully, they can stand alone,” he added.
Retail price points are set to range from $299 to $599 for 6-feet-by-9-feet in tufted rugs and will cap off at $1,699 for 6-by-9 hand-knotted rugs.
Hellenic will host a launch party for Olson’s line at High Point in the courtyard area of the Market Square building, where the company has its mezzanine showroom.
