Lowe's appoints two to board of directors

WILKESBORO, NC -Lowe's Companies, the home improvement retailer based here, has appointed Dawn Hudson and Robert Ingram to its board of directors.
"I'm pleased these high-caliber professionals have agreed to join our board," said Robert Tillman, chairman of the board and ceo. "Their strong management experience and innovative thinking will strengthen the foundation of our success as we continue our aggressive nationwide expansion."
Hudson currently serves as senior vp, strategy and marketing for Pepsi-Cola North America, where she oversees brand strategy, marketing, advertising and product innovation. Prior to that, she was managing director at D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles in New York.
Ingram is coo and president, pharmaceutical operations for GlaxoSmithKline. He joined Glaxo Inc. in 1990 and eventually served as president, ceo and chairman. He then became chairman and ceo in 1995, following the company's merger with Burroughs Wellcome, becoming Glaxo Wellcome. Glaxo Wellcome and SmithKline Beecham merged in 2000 to form GlaxoSmithKline.
