Gilmartin Out at Linens 'n Things? 'No Comment'

Clifton, N.J. —Officials at Linens 'n Things executive headquarters here, contacted by Home Textiles Today on Friday, March 24, said “no comment” to reports that Jane Gilmartin had left the company as executive vp and chief merchandising officer, after just nine months on the job.

Gilmartin joined Linens 'n Things in July 2005 from Ross Stores where she had been senior vp and general manager for the retailer's dd's Discounts store division. Earlier, she had held senior management positions with various specialty retailers, including Bed Bath & Beyond.

Gilmartin was a long-time veteran at Linens 'n Things, and from December 1993 through March 1998 had worked there as general merchandise manager.

Asked if a successor to Gilmartin will be named or if the post will remain vacant, a company spokesperson said, “no comment.”
