Hellenic Rug Imports Shifts Sales Execs

Brooklyn, N.Y. — Hellenic Rug Imports is restructuring its top executive team upon the recent departure of Steve Roan, who resigned as national sales manager to start his own retail business with his wife, Carolyn.
The Roans recently purchased area rug and home furnishings store Great Rugs of Blue Ridge, in Blue Ridge, Ga.
“We are up and running,” Roan told HTT. “Carolyn and I have been together 30 years, and we had been wanting to do something on our own, together, for a while. This just came to us at the right time. It's fun to be on the other side of the business after 18 years on the wholesale side.”
In the meantime, Hellenic president Steve Mazarakis is in the process of restructuring his sales force, switching from a single national sales manager post to four regional sales managers assigned to the Northeast, Southeast, Northwest and Southwest sections of the United States.
Tony Spears, who was already a regional manager for the Northwest, retains his post but now supervises his own team of independent sales representatives in the area.
Mark Waters, formerly a sales rep in the Southeast, has been promoted to Southeast regional manager.
Ankush Gupta retains his post as vp and regional manager for Canada but now also assumes the additional responsibility as regional manager for the Northeast.
And Mazarakis is temporarily standing in as regional manager for the Southwest area until he finds someone for the post. He is currently conducting a search.
