Revman To Sign New Surf License

By Michele SanFilippo -- Home Textiles Today, 7/25/2005

New York — Revman International is letting its Dean Miller Surf Bedding license run out and is replacing it with a new surf license early next year based on the lifestyle and designs of a yet-to-be-named champion California surfer.

The company will ship Dean Miller home furnishings through October and will continue to sell off inventory for an additional six months after the contract runs out later this year. More details of Revman's new surf license will be unveiled later this week.

Richard Roman, president and CEO of Revman, stated, “The decision was made for reasons we do not wish to disclose, but our customers should be assured that we will continue to service the business through the balance of this year.”

According to executives at Dean Miller, the company is currently negotiating directly with national chains and looking to reconnect with its Southern California roots by bringing its surfer looks back to its local manufacturing facility. Dean Miller products are currently sold at Federated, Bed Bath & Beyond and Linens 'n Things.

Roman described the new licensing agreement as originating from a “world-class, California-based, champion surfer and personality whose lifestyle and authenticity will bring a new level of energy and creativity to the market.”
