Design Within Reach Recruits Carrara from Williams-Sonoma

San Francisco —Design Within Reach has hired Michelle Carrara as vp merchandising. Her most recent post was divisional merchandise manager, textiles and apparel, Pottery Barn Kids. Carrara had prior merchandising experience at Gap Inc.
The upscale home furnishings design house and retailer also has recruited Suzanne Ewing as vp human resources. Ewing was most recently vp human resources at Shopping.com
Design Within Reach sells to residential and commercial customers via catalog, online and a direct sales force; the company also operates 56 DWR Studio stores including 16 locations with expanded DWRjax presentations featuring children's product lines.
