By Michele SanFilippo -- Home Textiles Today, 12/19/2005

New York — Sew-Rite Manufacturing Co. Ltd., a producer and importer of fashion bedding for the Canadian market, opened its first U.S. showroom at 11 East 26th Street here with an eye toward capturing new clientele among American retailers.

In addition, the company is currently negotiating on three new brands during the tween, teen and young adult market it is looking to launch for the 2006 February Mini Market.

Sew Rite's value-priced products are developed for major department stores in Canada under a variety of private label brands as well as its own Linen House label.

Established in 1966, the Sew-Rite group currently includes five independent subsidiaries in home furnishings: Sew-Rite Manufacturing Co. Ltd., Stor-Tex Importers Ltd., Master Rights Inc., Charles 2000 Inc. and Caldyne Corporation. The business operates out of a 100,000-square-foot facility with state-of-the-art equipment in Woodbridge, in the greater Toronto area.

Stor-Tex specializes in offering a wide range of weaves and finishes for fully coordinated table and kitchen linens. Master Rights offers retail partners logistics support for overseas sourcing. In partnership with Synergies Worldwide, the firm can provide global sourcing, quality assurance, compliance and product tracking from offices in 14 different countries.

Charles 2000 is a leading Canadian decorative pillows and accessories manufacturer, while Caldyne Corporation is a top ironing board pad and cover producer in Canada.
