American Century Hires Execs

Salisbury, N.C. — Marion Murray will join American Century Home on Dec. 5 as vice president, design and merchandising, a new post.
Murray, most recently was vice president of design for The Robert Allen Group. Earlier, she was with P/Kaufmann and Duralee Fabrics. Murray will be responsible for all design and merchandising decisions.
Also joining the company is Jeff Ganz who will be vice president, key accounts. He held a similar position with The Robert Allen Group. Ganz will be responsible for specific large national retail accounts and key manufacturers including Ethan Allen.
Murray and Ganz report to David Lappert Sr., executive vice president, general manager, who joined the company in September.
Lappert formerly was vice president, sales, The Robert Allen Group. Murray and Ganz join Myron Bass, vice president, finished products, who joined the company in July as noted.
Lappert and Bass are based at the company's new headquarters here. Murray and Ganz will be based in New York at a design/showroom facility that is expected to open by January 2006.
Lappert reports to Tom Finneran, who remarked, “These new positions are part of a major expansion for the company in terms of business and design capability.”
