HomeSource Makes Blanket Statement

By Michele SanFilippo -- Home Textiles Today, 11/28/2005

New York — HomeSource International is making a statement in blankets these days with a new collection of 36-by-44-inch MicroCotton baby blankets in four pastel hues to retail for $60.

Also new is a series of adult-size blankets in six different constructions: Lyocell cotton; mercerized summer-weight cotton; combed cotton with a chenille look; enzyme-washed low-twist cotton; bamboo and cotton in a 50/50 mix offered in a cable knit style or large block weave; and a low-twist heavier-weight cotton. Blankets will retail for $150 queen.

In bedding, HomeSource expanded its Solutions sheet program into fashion bedding with its Nano-Tex duvet and shams in 300-count cotton that is water and stain repellent as well as wrinkle resistant. Nano-Tex top-of-bed features fabric-covered banded button details and is offered in atomic white, neutron green and molecular blue. Coordinated sheeting has six rows of stitching on the hem for a quilted effect.

The other expansion was a 100 percent bamboo quilted coverlet and shams in a brick design and reversible bamboo duvet and shams in five color combos. The program has a palette of seven colors: petal, blossom, buttercup, grass green, hemp, sky blue and white.

The company also added seven colors to its MicroCotton towel line, which now has 30 hues broken into six color families. New colors include: lemon drop, green apple, orange zest, flamingo pink, Bermuda blue, opal and bronze.

Featured in the same palette are Cotton Reverse bath mats and Nylon Rugs for bath with a latex backing, both in three sizes to retail between $25 and $50. In addition, nine styles of Ottoman Ribbed shower curtains have been developed in all 30 colors in 100 percent cotton featuring such designs as geo blocks, paisley, all-over washed floral or rattan, and daisies. Many of the patterns can also be coverlets and shams.
