DWI Holdings Rolls Out Sheets, Coverlets, Duvets

By Michele SanFilippo -- Home Textiles Today, 10/17/2005

New York — DWI Holdings is rolling out Royal Twill Check and Royal Twill Dot sheeting in 510-count twill, a Verona Egyptian cotton matelasse coverlet in an all-over small diamond motif, and Greek Key microsuede coverlets, shams and decorative pillows that reverse to cotton in six mid-tone colors.

Six bedding ensembles are also being featured at the New York Home Textiles Market: Ombre Plaid, Coco Diamond, La Boheme, Hollywood, Shadow Leaves and Dot, as well as an illusion colorway in Julienne, which features a tonal floral vine motif.

Ombre Plaid is a yarn-dyed jacquard in a tailored look, with silk charmeuse accessories. Coco Diamond is pieced and mitered with a quilted frame in an almond colorway in microfiber sateen accented with black. La Boheme is a paisley print in hyacinth, teal and linen on 270-count sateen with 410-count reactive print sheets.

Hollywood is a textured solid yarn-dyed jacquard featuring Chinese knots and a strie-striped coordinate with embroidered silk dec pillows and silk burnout velvet details. Shadow Leaves is a sheer-looking floral reactive print on the 510-count Royal Twill Check fabrication that is the coordinate to the new sheet, which has an open check design in white, clay, honey or oyster. Dot features two scales of a dot dobby on 510-count twill in an egg-white coloration.

In Silk Button quilts, four colors have been added: white, sand, green mist and illusion. Two colors have been added to the existing 510-count Royal Twill Stripe sheet: honey and clay; a yarn-dye jacquard that coordinates with the sheet is also new.

“We're going into the market feeling the direction we've taken in the solid color luxury jacquard area has been accepted at retail better than we expected, so our intent is to expand our bedding program accordingly with sheeting, top-of-bed and silk quilts,” said Marcia Brandwein, creative director of DWI Holdings.

The company is also showing three printed complete bed ensembles on 270-count constructions; two are on cotton, the other is a jacquard weave.

Items reverse to a coordinate and retail for $299 queen for sheeting and top-of-bed.
