Dow Latex Ups Prices

Midland, Mich. —The Dow Latex business is increasing the prices of all styrene Butadiene latex products sold into the carpet industry by 6 cents a pound (dry) and all acrylic latex products sold into the carpet industry by 10 cents a pound (dry) in the United States and Canada, effective Oct. 15.

“We continue to experience unprecedented escalation in raw material and energy costs. The devastating effects of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita have put additional pressure on critical petrochemical feedstocks and energy prices,” said Todd Crook, senior marketing manager, North America carpet, Dow Latex.

“In addition, the disruption in the transportation infrastructure in the Gulf Coast has further tightened supply of key raw materials utilized to manufacture our products.”
