Collier-Campbell Teams With Fabricut

By Carole Sloan -- Home Textiles Today, 9/26/2005

Tulsa, Okla. — Collier-Campbell, the British-based decorative fabric and home furnishings designer duo, has launched a major fabrics collection with Fabricut, the upper-end converter/jobber based here.

“Susan Collier approached us about distributing their fabrics in the United States,” said David Finer, CEO of Fabricut. After a number of conversations, “We decided to create a program of wovens, prints, trimmings, and silks with the Collier-Campbell flavor and the Fabricut distribution,” Finer related.

The Fabricut design team went to England to review the Collier-Campbell archives “to get a full sense of their experience,” Finer explained. “We picked designs that are appropriate to the United States with the flavor of Susan and Sarah.”

Susan Collier and Sarah Campbell have had many U.S. ventures, going back a number of decades to their decorative fabrics collection for P/Kaufmann.

The collection for Fabricut has 150 skus “and clearly reflects Susan's sense of color,” Finer said. There are four color palettes: coral, spice, cordovan red and tidepool green.

In addition to being featured in the Fabricut network of company designer showrooms and independent showrooms across the country, the collection is being distributed in four sample books, each holding a single color statement.

Fabrics are sourced from mills around the world, Finer said, and the company is selling the program globally. Wholesale prices are $18 to $50 per yard.
