Dan River Adds New Staff

New York — Dan River has named Don Whittam as senior vice president of sales and marketing for department and specialty store accounts, effective Sept. 19. He will report to Daniel Hammer and be based in New York.
Whittam was previously national sales manager for Nautica Home at American Pacific and director of merchandising at Revman International before that. In addition, he served as marketing manager of the bedding division at Fieldcrest Cannon and has worked for Springs Industries and Abraham & Straus. He started out in the textile industry in 1984.
Earlier in the year, Dan River hired Keith Haygood as vice president of national sales and Susan Meek as vice president of corporate licensing and marketing for adult and juvenile bedding plus external communications. Meek, who replaced Geri Wetmore, served as vice president of licensing and marketing at Hedstrom for five years and Imperial Wallcovering for two years; she also worked as director of licensing acquisitions at Hallmark for 14 years. Details on Haygood's background were unavailable at press time.
