Creative Bath Expanding

By Cecile B. Corral -- Home Textiles Today, 9/19/2005

Central Islip, N.Y. — Creative Bath Products is growing its line this coming market, branching out into larger bath-, bed- and laundry room storage and organizational pieces.

Under the newly created CreativeWare Home division, the company is adding baskets, hampers, rolling carts, upholstered drawer stations and other items.

Of the six collections being previewed in October, four will wear the designer Joseph Abboud brand name — which recently extended its licensing partnership with Creative Bath to include these new products. The groupings, which fall under the Joseph Abboud Environments umbrella, will comprise towel butlers, vanity valets, hampers, storage cabinets, storage baskets and myriad matching accessories, rendering Asian fusion to Art Deco motifs on bamboo, maize leaf and metal constructions.

“This is a natural evolution for us,” said Bob Weiss, sales and marketing director. “Although bath is the focus here, several categories and designs transcend into other rooms — the bedroom, den, kitchen, laundry room.”

The six collections were designed as independent of Creative Bath's new and existing bath coordinate collections of accessories, shower curtains, rugs and towels.

Retail price points will start at $7.99 for a tissue basket to $99 for the maize leaf with wood accents and canvas liner hamper.

Target customers are department and specialty retailers.

All goods being shown in October will be available for spring 2006 delivery, Weiss said.
