Atlanta —This fall's Material World New York show will include a home furnishings showcase, following the debut of the same concept at the spring Material World show in Miami.
The showcase will offer a variety of mills, converters, leather and trimming manufacturers, and service resources for the furnishings industry members, according to Urban Expositions, producer of the show. The event takes place Sept. 28 to 30 at the Jacob Javits Center.
Product categories will include cottons, chenille, chintzes, velvets, faux fabrics, flocks, jacquards, leather, sheeting and tapestries. Target attendees for Material World's Home Furnishings section include upholstery manufacturers, retailers, interior designers, jobbers and over-the-counter businesses.
“With the depth of home furnishing design leaders in New York, adding home furnishings fabrics to our product offerings only makes sense,” said Tim von Gal, executive vice president, Urban Expositions. He added that many of the show's current exhibitors already serve the home furnishings market.
