Sam's Club promotes senior management

BENTONVILLE, AR -Sam's Club, a division of Wal-Mart, has announced several senior management promotions.
Jim Haworth has been promoted to executive vp, operations. Beginning his career at Wal-Mart as an assistant manager in 1980, Haworth was most recently senior vp, operations, for Sam's Club, leading the operations of the more than 470 domestic clubs.
Phil Sutterfield has been promoted to executive vp, merchandising, from his previous position of senior vp, merchandising. He began his retail career in 1962 and joined Sam's Club in 1999, leading the merchandise division.
Celia Swanson has been promoted to executive vp, membership, marketing and administration. She most recently served as senior vp, membership, marketing and administration, and joined Sam's Club in 1994 as senior director of the People Group.
