New York —Cotton Incorporated has restructured two positions in its global product marketing department to expand the company's reach.
Mike Tyndall is now senior director, Latin America and Europe, and Mark Kametches has been promoted to associate director, North American marketing. Both will report to Dean Turner, senior vice president, global product marketing, who will assume direct oversight of the company's Asian operations. These changes were brought on by the retirement of Dean Pelczar, senior director, global product marketing.
Said Dean Turner, “The early retirement of Dean Pelczar represents a loss to Cotton Incorporated, but with change comes opportunity. Specifically, it means we are repositioning the global product marketing team as we face a world where exports of raw cotton and imports of cotton products dominate.”
Tyndall joined Cotton Incorporated in 1974 as a laboratory technician in the technical services department. In 1999, he was promoted to senior director of global product marketing. In his new position, Tyndall will also be charged with increased coordination with Cotton Council International, Cotton Incorporated's partner in numerous international activities.
Kametches' previous title was manager, Americas mill marketing.
Before joining Cotton Incorporated, he was the industry project director with the Institute of Textile Technology for AMTEX. He also held the position of technical manager for the New Cherokee Corporation in Spindale, N.C.
Pelczar began his career with Cotton Incorporated in 1979 in the woven fabric development department, and continued to work on an international scale in fabric development and marketing, primarily in Asia.
