Chinni Wins Chairman's Award

Event Honors JCPenney Execs for Managerial Excellence

Plano, Texas — Charlie Chinni, executive vice president, general merchandise manager, home, was the highest ranking recipient of the Chairman's Award at JCPenney for 2004.

Chinni also holds the titles for fine jewelry, family footwear and women's accessories.

The awards were presented in April to 275 JCPenney managers who were cited for managerial excellence by Myron (Mike) Ullman III, chairman and CEO. The awards are given to the top 15 percent of all store, district, buying unit and divisional managers, based on results.

Other winners in the home textiles business were Greg Franko, vice president, divisional merchandise manager, window coverings and luggage; and Cecil Naftel, vice president, custom decorating manager.

In addition, awards were presented to Cal Baumann, buyer, sheets, pillows, pads; Mitzi Cleveland, product development manager, decorative bedding, JCPenney Home Collection/Chris Madden; Beth Curran, divisional advertising manager, soft home, JCP Direct; Randall Decker, planning and allocation direction, home division; Kevin Fuller, senior catalog inventory manager, soft home adult bedding, JCP Direct; Steve McKeever, senior buyer, fashion bedding; Paul Moody, project manager, bed/bath, merchandise execution; Debra Schweiss, divisional trend director, home; Lynn Stacey, senior merchandise planner, window coverings; and Tammie Weaver, lead window coverings sales manager.
