C & RI appoints governing body

Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 11/27/2000

DALTON, GA -The Carpet and Rug Institute announced last week that an executive committee composed of five manufacturing members and one associate member will now govern the institute in the place of traditional officers. The decision was made at the institute's recent annual meeting.

As part of the institute's updating of bylaws, only one officer-the treasurer-will remain and serve on the executive committee.

This members of this year's executive committee are:

  • Bob Axtell, ceo, DuPont Commercial Flooring Systems;

  • Carl Bouckaert, chairman, Beaulieu Group LLC;

  • Daniel Frierson, chairman, The Dixie Group Inc.;

  • Jeff Lorberbaum, president, Mohawk Industries Inc.;

  • Robert Shaw, chairman, Shaw Industries Inc.;

  • E.P. "Rusty" Willimon, general manager, Milliken & Co.

The treasurer will be John Swift, Mohawk Industries.

Directors serving a two-year term expiring in 2001 are Mike Derderian, president, Royalty Carpet Mills; Walt Hubbard, group vp of Fiber Products, BASF; and Julian Saul, president, Shaw Industries Inc.

Directors serving a one-year term expiring in 2001 are Jim McCallum, president, Lees Carpet; and Jeffrey Wolff, vp and general manager, Solutia Inc.

Directors serving a two-year term expiring in 2002 are Richard Bierie, president, Mannington Commercial Carpets; Jim Jolly, chairman, J & J Industries Inc.; Richard Prinstein, vp of Carpet Fibers and general manager of Evergreen Nylon Recycling, Honeywell; and Stuart Thorn, president, Beaulieu Group LLC.
