Consoltex Expanding
By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 4/4/2005
Montreal —Consoltex, Inc., a manufacturer of woven fabrics, plans to expand operations in the Asia Pacific Region through a series of joint venture agreements with Asian partners.
Consoltex will provide its Asian partners with technical assistance to develop products to supplement its existing line of home furnishings fabrics. The goal is to expand the product line to provide a wider choice at all price points without compromising quality, according to the company.
“Home textile markets are experiencing a downward pressure on price while expectations with regard to quality, value, style and innovation remain high,” said Angela Passarelli, president of the Home Furnishings Division at Consoltex.
“We feel that these joint ventures are vital to the long term success of our business helping us deliver products and services at all price points.”
Passarelli will work with Peter Zu, Consoltex's Shanghai-based China Business Representative to identify alternate sources of supply and manufacture within the Asia Pacific Region.
