Fabria, i2 Tech form partnership

Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 11/20/2000

NEW YORK -Fabria Inc. and i2 Technologies Inc. announced the formation of a technology partnership.

Fabria.com, based here, will use i2 TradeMatrix 5.0, the latest release of i2's marketplace platform and solution site, which will enable Fabria to model, plan and transact across all participants in its value chain.

"By combining Fabria's industry-specific personalization, messaging and search engine technology with i2's content management, order processing, and supply chain collaboration platform, we are creating the ideal trading network platform for the global softgoods industries," said Ajay Khanna, chief technology officer of Fabria. "The i2 and Fabria combination creates a 'one plus one equals three' value proposition, providing customers with a highly secure, robust, scaleable and globally extensible softgoods marketplace."

Fabria.com was launched this past July by Vikas Luthra, ceo and co-founder, and David Tracy, vice chairman. The website enables textile buyers to access specific suppliers worldwide for specific fabrics for the textile, apparel and home furnishings industries. It also offers mills the opportunity to showcase their full product range.

"We are pleased to have Fabria use i2 TradeMatrix Solutions," said Terry Turner, senior vp of consumer goods and retail of the Dallas-based i2 Technologies. "Fabria's approach to tackling the complex supply chain in softgoods, along with its strong domain expertise and i2 TradeMatrix software, offers a winning solution for the softgoods industry."
