Crown Crafts moves to new NY showroom

NEW YORK -Heading around the corner to a new Big Apple showroom and offices, Crown Crafts has relocated to a 7,000-square-foot space on the 17th floor of 156 West 56 Street.
For the past several years, Crown Crafts has occupied 40,000 square feet on two floors of 1185 Sixth Avenue. "But now that we've shut down the studio line and streamlined our business, we really don't need that much space," said Michael Bernstein, Crown Crafts ceo. He said that, in another big plus, "the move will save us about $1.5 million a year." Still another big advantage is that the move preserves Crown Crafts' uptown presence in the midst of the major mills.
The new location will house the company's offices as well as a showroom for its Royal Sateen line of luxury bedding and its Pillow Buddies line of juvenile products. The phone number at the new showroom is (212) 696-4646. The Calvin Klein line will continue to be shown in its own separate showroom at 205 West 39 Street, Bernstein added.
The move officially took place last week, and the company's last day at 1185 Sixth Avenue was Nov. 18. "We're really looking forward to this. The new space is beautiful, great views and everything," Bernstein said.
