NEW YORK -Bed Bath & Beyond's new store on Manhattan's East Side showcases the giant specialty retailer's largest store, and first three-story format.
The 90,000-square-foot store, its second in Manhattan, is housed in a brand new upscale residential apartment tower at 61st Street and First Avenue, two blocks uptown from the year-old The Terence Conran Shop.
The store, #292 in the fast growing chain, appears to offer a broader range of "beyond" merchandise in the mix, catering to the needs of the local market.
As part of its home textiles mix, the store highlights its supersized luxury exclusive Fieldcrest Supreme Classic towel, with the 30 x 58 pegged at $14.98.
Joining the retailers featuring "hotel quality" table linens, towels and bedding, Bed Bath offers a "hotel towel," Espalina from Brazil, at $16.99.
Croscill's Indulgence towel also gets feature presentation with the 27 x 54 bath at $16.99.
Customers enter the store on the main floor which offers items from gift paper to bulbs. Home textiles are on the lower level, and include bath, bed, window, basic bedding and rugs. On the upper level, table linens and kitchen textiles are showcased with tabletop, houseware and serveware.
