Nourison Celebrates 25 Years in Business

Saddle Brook, N.J. — In celebration of its 25th anniversary as a player in the area rug industry, family owned and operated Nourison is hosting a party later this month during the Atlanta International Area Rug market as well as debuting several new handmade and power-loomed collections marking the milestone.

“Of course, my brothers and I are tremendously proud of our company and its success,” said Alex Peykar, president. “We have always tried to be innovators — to bring new looks, new constructions and new opportunities to the market place. This will continue to be the guiding strategy for our next quarter century.”

Since 1980 when it was founded by the Peykar family, Noursion has been a supplier of handmade area rugs, including Tibetan weaves, hand-knotted wool-and-silk Chinese carpets and classic flatweaves, as well as hand-finished power-loomed area rugs. Four years ago, it added handmade, washable accent and scatter rugs from China to its assortment.

“For all of us at Nourison, this anniversary is first and foremost a celebration of what we hope to achieve in the future — a benchmark for the new ideas and new products we will bring to our market in the years to come,” Peykar added.

Later this month, the company will introduce six new collections — two handmade and four new power-loomed — as well as several new designs to popular existing collections.

Nourison's 25th anniversary party will be held at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at the company's showroom, 3-D-2.
