Dormisette to Debut Island Kids Bedding

New York — Dormisette is launching a new juvenile bedding line called Island Kids that is “designed for kids, by kids,” based on artwork by two children in the Bahamas.
The collection is set to debut at Heimtextil with two designs printed on percale. They include Our Very Own Reef, an underwater scene; and Back to Schools, featuring various schools of fish. Other constructions are available upon request.
Eventually Island Kids will feature artwork by children from other Bahamian islands, and the company plans to establish a contest to find future designers as well as an art scholarship fund. A percentage of the sales will go toward educating the children.
Products in the line will include sheets, pillowcases, comforters, shams, throw pillows, bed skirts, window treatments, duffle bags, sleepover bags, pajamas and robes.
By the April New York Home Textiles Market, the collection will also offer shower curtains, sleeping bags, children's swimwear, and beachwear such as sarongs, T-shirts and sports shirts. Other products on the drawing board include swim fins, flip flops and inflatable beach toys.
In addition, Dormisette will be showing new constructions that have been in development, such as cotton silk flannel and cotton bamboo flannel that can be offered in various compositions from 60/40 to 90/10.
The company will be located in hall 8, aisle D, stand D60 at Heimtextil.
