Latex Intl. to Expand Pouring, Manufacturing Capacity

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 11/29/2004

Shelton, Conn. —Latex International, a supplier of latex pillows and mattresses components, will expand its latex pouring and manufacturing capacity and introduce the first U.S. Dunlop process latex topper production line in early 2006.

The new line will enable the company to produce Dunlop process mattress toppers and sheets on a continuous line, minimizing the need for fabrication. Topper material will come in thicknesses ranging from 0.4 to 2 inches in a wide array of firmness levels.

“Our new manufacturing capability will allow us to meet the emerging demand for this product as latex is now gaining placement in many high-end conventional beds with many of the industry's leading brands,” said Mike Lorelli, Latex International president and CEO.

“Our new manufacturing line, in combination with our Connecticut, Los Angeles and recently announced Southeast fabrication facilities, will enable us to expand our growing portfolio of products, increase our speed to market and reduce our delivery time,” he said.

The company is expanding its Talalay capacity by 19 percent by adding a new line of queen-size latex presses and molds in its Connecticut location, which will be completed in early 2005.
