Heimtextil on the Horizon

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 11/8/2004

New York— An expanded floor coverings presence, a focus on bedding and more emphasis on the contract business will be three major forces at Heimtextil 2005 in Frankfurt, Germany in January.

The giant textile show, to be held Jan. 12 to 15, also will reorganize the halls to better flow the merchandise presentations as buyers shop. Household textiles will be brought closer together with the Dreamland section, formerly in halls 1.1 and 1.2 moving to halls 9.1 and 9.2. Bath will be in halls 5.0 and 6.0; and kitchen in hall 9.3.

Bedding and bed linens will be in halls 8.0 and 9.0 with mattresses, water beds, bed frames and bedding also in hall 8.0. The premium bedding presentation, Dreamland, also moves from halls 1.1 and 1.2 to halls 9.1 and 9.2.

Deco & Style, which includes decorative fabrics, is in hall 4.1; upholstery fabrics in hall 6.1 and curtain fabrics are in hall 3.0 and 4.0.

Asian suppliers will be in halls 10.0, 10.1 and 10.2, with a premium section in 10.2.

Heimtextil, according to Roland Bleinroth, president, Heimtextil U.S., is expanding its efforts to curb design piracy at the show. The campaign “Heimtextil Against Copying” (HAC) will feature added security personnel on hand to prevent unauthorized photography. Advertising photographers or exhibitors wishing to take pictures of their own stand will need prior written permission.
