New York — Laurene Gandolfo will join Federated Merchandising Group (FMG) as senior vice president, home, reporting to Janet Grove, CEO of FMG and vice-chair of parent Federated Department Stores, effective Nov. 20.

At the same time, the company announced that Eric Salus, president of Macy's Home Store, will join Leonard Marcus, president and chief operating officer of FMG, in reporting to Grove. He has reported to Federated Chairman and CEO Terry Lundgren since the organization of Macy's Home Store.

The company stated that Salus “will continue to focus on building the home business, Marcus will assume operational support responsibilities for the home business and enable it to benefit from FMG's administrative and operational support functions as it continues to grow.”

Lundgren noted, “Eric and his organization have made tremendous progress in defining the mission and vision of the Macy's Home Store in the last year, and we are proud of what has been accomplished in so short a time.”

Gandolfo — most recently vice president of textiles, food, candy, and trim at Bloomingdale's, another Federated division — succeeds Chris Capuano who has joined Kohl's.

Reporting to Gandolfo are Cynthia White, vice president, design; Barbara Dougherty, vice president, housewares and food prep; Donna Vance, divisional vice president, textiles; and Bill Curren, brand director, home decor.

Gandolfo and her team are responsible for all home private brands including design and product development, and will work in partnership with Macy's Home Store merchants and creative teams.
