Sheridan Unveils Vibrant Floral Group, Tweener Brand

By Michele SanFilippo -- Home Textiles Today, 10/25/2004

New York —Sheridan USA has launched a new floral collection of bedding that continues to bring the company back to its roots with the vibrant colorations and flowery printed looks Sheridan was known for in the '80s.

The collection, which has three beds — Wildflower, Botanica and Garland — is shown in a black walled and draped room that features a spotlight on one bed at a time. The new looks will retail for $199 queen or king as comforter sets. All three beds have bolsters and decorative pillows with ruffles for a look with dressmaker details. The collection will be marketed in a copper-colored package bearing the Sheridan logo.

Wildflower is a fiber-reactive wildflower print on a black cotton sateen ground with cranberry sheeting that also comes in periwinkle. Botanica has large sketched flowers on a fuchsia ground that reverses to a small-scale intense black floral motif. The sheeting features the same all-over botanical on white. Garland is an intense floral with a watercolor feel on cotton sateen that reverses to a mini floral in blues and violets.

Also new are five tweener looks that are all about color and texture under a new brand called Juniors. They include: a Pucci-colored pattern called Wave, Milestone Dotty, Milestone Stripe, Vigour Circles and Rainbow, a tie-dye look in pinks and blues with a touch of yellow.

Other new jacquard or printed patterns at the recently held New York Home Textiles Market included Vaccari, Eclipse, Madagascar, Meadow, Monaco and Nantucket Stripe.

Vaccari is a woven look inspired by Celtic designs paired with a rust accent. Eclipse features sage green and French blue circles on a neutral woven ground with gusseted round euros/floor cushions, a new shape. Monaco is a fun Mediterranean vacation theme in yellow, pink and aqua. Nantucket Stripe is a new take on the successful Vigour Stripe pattern in pinks and blues.
