Awards Honor Market's Best

From the New York Market —The 26th semi-annual New York Home Textiles Show honored Best New Product Award winners and finalists in six categories Friday at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City.

The winners and finalists are:

Best of Show: Descamps (Foster City, Calif.) for its linen bedding and throws from France.

Bed: Cuddledown (Portland, Maine) for its Soho & Medallion jacquard ensemble.

Finalists: The Red Threads, Inc. First Impressions Productions, LLC

Bath: Johnan Ormino Co., Ltd. (Japan) for its bath towels featuring a honeycomb weaving technique.

Finalists: Mori Shoji Co., Ltd. Baykent Textile

Kitchen/Table: W Decor (Arcadia, Calif.) for its handmade eclectic tabletop set, made from ebony and stainless steel.

Home Accessories: Worldwide Import & Export (Brazil) for its hand-painted floor lamp.

Finalists: Alpha Corp. CMI (Colonial Mills, Inc.)

Home Apparel: Honiya' Renown America, Inc. (New York) for its kimono-inspired print apron and wrap skirt.

Finalists: Ikeuchi Towel Co. PJ'S 2 GO

“Product innovation drives the success of this industry, and is a priority for the New York Home Textiles Show,” said Gracelyn Monaco, show manager. “New concepts and product ideas from forward-thinking manufacturers keep our industry fresh and vital. We are proud to host these creative companies and reward their valuable efforts.”

New York Home Textiles Show exhibitors were invited to submit their most creative and innovative products for exhibition in the Best New Product display. A panel of editors judged the products and selected the Best New Product award winners based on innovative design, product solution, aesthetic appeal, creativity and new material or technology. This year's judges were: Karen Chambers, editor-in-chief, LDB Interior Textiles; Pamela Graves, editor-in-chief, Home Fashion & Furniture Trends; Anthony Guerra, managing editor, Home Textiles Today and Jennifer Quail, group editor, floor coverings, HFN.
