Greensboro, N.C.— North Carolina textiles executives recently kicked off a grassroots campaign to elevate public awareness of trade issues at an event in Greensboro.
A statewide billboard campaign focusing on the need to change trade policy was the main tactic of the effort. A full-size billboard, along with yard signs and bumper stickers, was unveiled.
Attendees included: John Emrich, president and CEO of Guilford Mills; James Chesnutt, president and CEO of National Spinning Co.; and Steve Dobbins, president and CEO of Carolina Mills.
The campaign is sponsored by the American Manufacturing Trade Action Coalition, the National Council of Textile Organizations and the National Textile Association.
