Caesarea Conquers With Innovation

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 10/4/2004

New York —Caesarea Creations will offer new bath rug constructions during the New York Home Textiles Market, building on the introduction earlier this year of its HydroMagic rug, which employed activewear fibers to absorb more moisture and dry faster.

New to the assortment will be Edges 2 Go, a rug with detachable fancy tape as well as a second tape of different design that the consumer can swap out.

In addition, the company is adding tape borders to its best-selling solid color cotton and synthetic rugs to give them a higher fashion quotient.

Caesarea is also introducing glitter rugs in cotton and synthetic constructions that contain shiny metallic fibers.

Rugs with multi-yarn effects also are new. These are made with two types of yarns. Each is a different thickness, but both are dyed to the same color, said Gidi Landau, vice president of sales and marketing for the Israel-based company.

“We use computerized looms to tuft in simple but sophisticated designs, so the overall look is a solid color bath rug with surface interest,” he added.

Caesarea sets a goal of introducing at least one new technical innovation each market.

“We believe that while the consumer still loves the solid color look, he or she is looking for newness in this category,” Landau said.
