cmi representative Ernst wins Rugs-Direct award

PAWTUCKET, R.I. — cmi sales representative Darryl Ernst is the recipient of the "Rep of the Year" award from Winchester, Va.-based Rugs-Direct, an Internet supplier of rugs.

Rugs-Direct, which also has a retail store in Winchester and a catalog business, selected Ernst for the award from the company's 30 sales agents.

"Darryl immediately came to mind when we were reviewing the potential candidates for this award, as he always goes beyond the call of duty and is very diligent and proactive on our account," said Bill Martin, national sales director with Rugs-Direct. "He comes up with ideas on how to best present and promote the cmi line on our site, lets us know if something needs to be changed or updated and responds quickly to any of our requests or questions."

Prior to establishing himself as an independent sales agent and covering the Virginia, Maryland and Delaware territory for cmi, Ernst was assistant vice president of merchandising at Heilig-Meyers Furniture and senior buyer at Best Products Catalogs.

"Darryl is successful because he has always given Rugs-Direct the same attention you would a retail store customer," said Mary Jane Connell, vice president of national sales with cmi. "He is very detail-oriented and places a priority on quick follow up."
