BELLMAWR, N.J. — Ginsey Industries has climbed aboard the "Trading Spaces" express, with a licensed collection of appliqués for kitchen and bath rolling out this month at retail.
The press-on/peel-off appliqués are also textured to give them the dimensionality of tile. The inaugural line encompasses 17 patterns featuring contemporary, traditional and novelty designs.
"Our approach to most products is, from a marketing point of view, does it provide a solution to the customer?" said Jeffrey Cohen, vice president of sales at Ginsey. " 'Trading Spaces' melded with our thought processes. They provide solutions, but also make it fun and make it affordable."
"Trading Space" appliqués will be packaged in sets of 16 sheets that retail for around $10. Each pattern has three coordinate components: full tile, cut-out tile and border tile. Packaging depicts applications that employ all three types for a more sophisticated design.
"It's a trompe l'oeil look. They look like tiles you'd buy for $10 apiece," Cohen said. "We believe the average consumer is going to buy at least two packages, maybe more."
