Momeni hires vets Ehsani and Shelton for new positions

NEW YORK— Area rug supplier Momeni Inc. recently created two executive positions and filled them with industry veterans — one of whom is returning to the company after several years.
Ray Ehsani, whose career in the rug industry spans more than 20 years, has been appointed vice president of national sales. Previously, he worked for Dallas-based Feizy Rugs as vice president of sales. And prior to that he spent several years at Momeni.
In his new post, Ehsani is responsible for establishing and expanding Momeni's business in key distribution channels. He will continue to be based in Dallas.
"Long-time Momeni accounts will recognize Ray," said Austin Craley, vice president of sales, to whom Ehsani reports. "(He) was instrumental in the early growth of Momeni back in the 1980s and early 1990s, and it is wonderful that we had the opportunity to have him come back."
Penny Shelton, who also brings more than 20 years of experience in floor covering and design, has been named national account manager for key accounts. She previously held similar positions at Norcross, Ga.-based Trade Am and the former World Carpets Inc., now owned by Mohawk. Shelton remains based in Atlanta and also reports to Craley.
"Momeni's continued growth made these new positions necessary," Craley said. "We feel Penny's personality and knowledge of the marketplace will be a great fit with our customer base ... . (Ray) is one of the most knowledgeable and well-liked sales veterans in the industry, a real professional. It feels great to have him back in the family."
