Changes aplenty at Dan River

NEW YORK — Dan River Inc. has made a number of high-level changes within the Home Fashions Division.

Scott McLam, formerly sales manager for Federated and Specialty Stores, has been promoted to vice president of sales, Department and Specialty Stores. Responsibility for all areas of sales and product management for this channel of distribution will fall under his direction, according to the company.

Accordingly, the respective product managers who support this business group will report to McLam. He will continue to be located out of the New York office and report directly to Daniel Hammer, executive vice president of sales and marketing.

Prior to working at Dan River, McLam was vice president of sales and marketing for Huntingdon Mills and has spent over 20 years in the home textiles and apparel fabrics business with Fieldcrest Mills, Fronco Mfg. and Maldon Mills.

Geri Wetmore, formerly vice president of lifestyle brand marketing, has been promoted to vice president of lifestyle marketing, for the Upstairs and Specialty Store Business. She will have an expanded role in the strategic planning, product development, and marketing efforts in the department and specialty store channel. Wetmore will report to Hammer, and continue to be based out of the New York office.

Wetmore joined Dan River Inc. in 1999 as a regional sales manager. Prior to Dan River, she spent 3 years as national sales manager at Excell Home Fashions, seven years in various sales and sales management positions at Crown Crafts Home Textiles, and began her career at Fieldcrest as a sales representative.

Larry Hicks, formerly sales manager for national and regional accounts, has been promoted to vice president of sales, national and regional chains. Hicks will continue to be based out of the Dallas office and report to Kevin Jareck, senior vice president of sales and marketing, national chains, and McLam.

Hicks has spent his career in various sales, marketing and merchandising positions at Dan River and West Point Stevens.

Glen Alberi, formerly sales manager for mass accounts has been named director of sales for the JCPenney account. Alberi will relocate from the San Francisco area to the Dallas office and report to Jareck.

Nancy Cartisano, formerly product manager of department and specialty stores, has been named director, sourced products. In her new position, she will be responsible for the coordination of source development and daily interaction with outside suppliers. Cartisano will work closely with product managers and the design area. She will be based in the New York office and report directly to Hammer.

Prior to joining Dan River, she held various marketing and merchandising positions with Haywin Textiles and American Home/Arley Corp. Cartisano also spent several years as an import buyer of home textiles.

Eddy Corado, formerly associate product manager of national chains, has been promoted to product manager of department and specialty stores. Corado will be located in the New York office and report to McLam.

Prior to Dan River, Corado was an executive assistant at Mackenzie-Childs LTD., a high-end retail manufacturer of furniture, pottery and home furnishings.
