Springs debuts new line

AT THE NEW YORK MARKET — Springs Industries unveiled its new Crabtree & Evelyn by Wamsutta collection, which is positioned for classification merchandising.
Components include quilts, duvets, comforter sets, coordinating sheets, rugs and a full range of bath. All bedding components are 100 percent cotton.
The overall fashion direction is retro-inspired vintage.
There are two umbrella categories for design. Haven encompasses foliage-inspired patterns on textured fabrics, with product sold as freestanding items. Conservatory tilts toward floral motifs, primarily print, and is sold in sets.
A core trellis print sheet is being offering in eight colors and can serve as an alternative sheet option throughout the line. The construction is a 300-count pima twill. In addition, Springs will offer a hem-stitch sheet in white and ivory, as well as a hem-stitch scalloped sheet in eight colors, as solid alternatives to the print sheets.
Crabtree & Evelyn also will include a chenille bedspread as a solid-color top-of-bed in five colors.
Additionally, the collection will offer free-standing bedskirt options, including a crochet skirt and a tailored skirt with four tiered pleats across the bottom.
Pricing on quilts starts at $139.99 full/queen. Open stock duvet pricing will be $179.99 full/queen and $199.99 king. Comforter sets will retail at $349.99 queen and $359.99 king.
Crabtree & Evelyn blanket offerings will include a space-dyed woven with chenille in a variety of colors and a menswear-inspired woven stripe.
The trellis theme in the core print sheet has also been carried over to rugs in the collection. Springs will offer a sculpted trellis pattern, as well as a reversible woven trellis pattern with fringe. Both will be offered in a variety of solid colors.
In addition, rug offerings coordinating to Haven include a sisal-inspired ribbed wool rug, a tone on tone with novelty yarns for luster and a tone on tone damask.
The core Crabtree & Evelyn towel will be a ribbed jacquard in eight colors. Constructions in bath accessories include ribbed glass, ribbed acrylic, etched blue glass, white porcelain with an inlaid diamond motif, a runny glaze, milk glass and a crackle glass with a matte finish and the Crabtree & Evelyn signature stamped into the surface. Shower curtains coordinate back to some of the bedding patterns.
With Crabtree & Evelyn having absorbed the lion's share of the season's floral designs, the remainder of the Wamsutta bedding collection has moved forward into more contemporary styles. In a departure from the lifestyles presentations of recent markets, Springs this market is assorting its showroom by color family.
In the Russets family, Novia offers a cross-dyed iridescent fabric with a retro-inspired, large-scale flocked graphic.
In the Neutral Green family, Cleo presents linear micro plating, framing a darker center panel and reversing to a vintage graphic document print.
In the Sun Brights family, Lundy is a pieced brushed cotton twill in white with cords in four colors creating a frame across the face of the gusseted duvet.
In the Black & White family, Ratio is a denim-like black and white stripe with a gross-grain ribbon band. Red denim shams accent the ensemble.
In the Blue family, Amarinthia is composed of angular pieces of tie-dyed corduroy as a center panel, surrounded by solid corduroy.
Each of the patterns ties back to one of Springs' solid-color sheeting groups.
In addition, Springs has boosted the number of duvet introductions in the open line by roughly 30 percent to tap into the non-comforter customer base.
