Federated promotes five in Macy's Home organization
Corporate restructuring of stores continues

NEW YORK — A string of promotions was recently implemented as part of the corporate restructuring at Federated Department Stores' Macy's Home Store organization, which was established in early February.
Dave Vernon has been promoted to senior vice president of textiles from his former post as senior vice president and general merchandise manager of home at the company's Florida-based Burdines chain.
Bernie Gacka, formerly divisional merchandise manager of furniture at Macy's East, has been promoted to senior vice president of furniture.
Susan Mesec, formerly vice president of marketing and production at Macy's West, has been promoted to senior vice president of marketing.
Laurie Wilson also has been promoted. She was senior vice president of planning for Federated Merchandising Group and is now executive vice president of planning and administration.
Sue Gardner has been named senior vice president of planning and distribution.
Previously, she was senior vice president and general merchandise manager of home for the Rich's/Lazarus/Goldsmith's/Macy's division, based in Atlanta.
A returning new hire is Evan Dash as senior vice president of cookware/electrics. He most recently worked as vice president and general merchandise manager at Linens 'n Things and prior to that, was divisional merchandise manager of housewares at Macy's East.
